How would you explain specifically what you do as a Social Media Specialist?

I explain to them that I help tech startups make sure that they are taking actions based on their data to improve their business results through social media marketing and data analytics.

What is your primary marketing goal when it comes to delivering results?

I always ask my clients what their business goals and key performance indicators are and then I focus on that. Let’s say that their primary goal is to have more leads on their website, I’ll make sure that I will be able to meet their expectations.

Social Media campaign tracking. Making sure most if not all my social media efforts are measured.

Are there any particular Social Media Specialist trends on the horizon that really excite you?

I really like how Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and other new social media channels are evolving in order to adapt to the needs of consumers.

What are some of the top tools and apps in your Social Media Specialist stack?

Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Tweepi/Buzzsumo, Adstage, True Social Media Metrics.

How is your typical work day structured?

My typical workday includes: checking Google Analytics, ask the team about our current content plan, check social ads and monitor leads.

Which one book/blog post would you recommend every Social Media Specialist should read?

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk. Then for starters, they can read this.

What advice would you share with other Social Media Specialists who want to become more productive?

Upbeat music and motivational quotes/ videos sometimes work, but at the end of the day just do it. Even if you feel lazy and bored. Just do it.
