Ryan Biddulph inspires with his blog, eBooks and courses at Blogging From Paradise.
How did you start out as a marketer?
I began blogging to learn how to build my online business from a more posturing, authority perspective.
Marketing seemed like a natural fit for blogging because I needed to learn how to market my blog effectively in order to boost my traffic and profits.
Looking back what is your hardest struggle when it came to delivering results?
Being generous, patient and persistent for a long period of time to market the right way.
I panicked in the past, bailing on proven marketing fundamentals because the results I wanted to see, did not appear quickly enough.
I soon realized good things take time, and ample generous service. I became patient. Everything seemed to come together quickly for me when I slowed down, calmed down and took my time.
How did you get your first client back then, and what kind of service did you do for them?
I created oodles of helpful content, built friendships with bloggers in my niche, and lo and behold!
A freelance writing client found me. I ghost wrote an entire eBook for him.
What do you find most rewarding about what you do?
I enjoy freeing myself and freeing my readers to circle the globe through blogging.
We have a lot of readers who are bent on becoming freelancers, aside from freelancing how else can someone earn online, and what is your advise?
The possibilities for profiting are limitless, really.
Some ideas: write and self-publish eBooks, convert eBooks to audio books, convert eBooks to paperbacks, publish courses, sell sponsored posts, engage in affiliate marketing, coach, consult….no limits to earning exist, save any limit to your creativity and imagination.
If you were given the chance to build your career all over again what would you do differently so that you will achieve your dreams faster?
I would do everything the same exact way because everything occurs at the perfect time, in the perfect place, just how it was supposed to be.
How is your typical work day structured?
I am fluid. I change my work day from time to time.
But I usually write and publish blog posts and guest posts throughout the day and also network with fellow bloggers by engaging ’em, promoting ’em and commenting genuinely on blogs.
Can you tell us about a time where you had to put in significant effort up front and then wait a long time for success?
Ummmm….there was no *one time*….that was my entire blogging career! LOL!
What recently-developed marketing strategy, technique or tool interests you the most right now?
Guest posting feels fun to me because I make friends, share value and expand my presence through this neat medium.
The key is to build bonds before asking someone to guest post on their blogs.
Make friends, share value through your blog and fellow bloggers will invite you to guest post on their blogs.
What do you do to stay up to date with new marketing techniques?
Following top marketing blogs and trusting my gut keeps me current with new marketing techniques.
Learn from pros but also listen to your intuition too, because your gut knows the way to marketing success.
What advice would you share with other Marketer’s who want to become more productive?
Make sure marketing feels fun to you. If work feels like the reward, you will be more productive.
If marketing feels heavy or stressful, you will not be productive. Simple as can be, this basic law of business, and life.
If there’s one Marketing Guru you’d recommend who and why.
Neil Patel is the gold standard because he delivers oodles of value in great detail.
He lays out all you need to know to succeed with your marketing campaign.
