Pick His Brain!

I’d like to introduce one of our members, Immy Tariq, for our next ‘Pick His Brain’ session and I want to thank him for the participation.

Imran is a serial entrepreneur, best selling author, and media expert who helps companies grow through building assets and direct response based marketing. His success has lead him to interviews even on national TV such as CNN and CNBC.

One of his favorite client acquisition method is LinkedIn. If you were thinking of reaching out to LinkedIn to generate clients, he is your guy to ask questions. Feel free to pick his brain.

What were some of the biggest challenges of client acquisition?

I couldn’t generate my ideal clients for free at the prices I wanted till I went to LinkedIn.

LinkedIn allows the opportunity to establish trust beforehand and sell people on knowing you and creating warm relationships.

It’s much easier to sell someone if they trust you and they can see that others do as well.

Don’t get me wrong I love cold emails and cold calls etc but LinkedIn is a different class of clientele that has money.

Also even if they ignore a few messages there are ways to make them reach out to you and start a conversation.

What ways would you suggest for what you do, just as an example? top 3?

– LinkedIn
– Cold emails
– Direct mail

So you like starting out w LinkedIn and follow up with the others?

Not always. Sometimes I start with direct mail.

What does your current business model look like?

I sell SEO and lead generation mostly on the front end.

My back-end has reputation defense and all referrals based.

I work very little in fulfillment and mostly spend time in r&d and I have VA do most of the work for me.

What mistakes do most people make when trying to acquire clients?

They try to sell to fast, they don’t tey build relationships.

Build value in the wrong way, do a grant cardone style sales pitch (aggressive), lack patience and don’t follow up strategically and also lack positioning and certainty in their service.

What’s your CPA for LinkedIn? Details and explanations appreciated?

Zero other than sales navigator and one took for 15 dollars a month.

Is all organic.

How do you sell that as a service? Let’s say a client wants to do LinkedIn marketing.

I would sell LinkedIn lead generation like this – I don’t go into the details on how I generate the leads but how many leads do they want.

I sell them a result based upon what that result will do for their lives and do a money back guarantee

What does your ideal client profile look like?

They earn over a million a year.

They have multiple locations and looking to grow and expand.

They can bring me at least 10 referrals as well.

They understand that they have to spend money to make money and looking for someone for less than 2k a month is less than minimum wage so they want a true expert.

Do you have a method to determine whether a company is looking to grow or is in a growth mode? If so, what method do you use?

They actively spend money on marketing is a great indicator.

Actionable items to generate leads for a SaaS product – live chat software?

I will drop a video in walking through LinkedIn the process is the same for any form of lead generation here.

The specifics obviously has to be tailored based upon product and service and your company, etc.

What are you go to tools for CRM and client acquisition?

Pipedrive and LinkedIn or referrals.

What are some ways to provide value while prospecting on LinkedIn? Can you give a general overview of the steps involved in getting clients on LinkedIn?

Study human relationships, this is the key to all sales and business.

Hit up SEO agencies and do white label as a linking agency for them. Write the profile as a linking agency on LinkedIn.

What’s the way to write profile as a linking agency?

If you are new to SEO, go master this first and once understood the terminology, etc. then go study copywriting.
