How would you explain specifically what you do as an SEO?
This depends on the project I’m working on but, I would say I’m closest to a “Technical SEO”.
Some days this is a more nerdy term than others, I ultimately work on improving a website presence for both the search engines to crawl and the visitors to engage.
What is your primary marketing goal when it comes to delivering results?
This might differ depending on the campaign goals, but driving more relevant, converting traffic is our primary goal. We’ve found in our own business this is the best way to grow, so we like to help our clients do the same.
What do you find most rewarding about SEO?
What I find most rewarding is also one of the greatest challenges for an SEO, the fact that it’s constantly changing. I really enjoy the persistent challenge and finding progressive ways to create long lasting value in the continuously changing search engines.
What are some of the top tools and apps in your SEO stack?
My favorite SEO tools include, Link Research Tools, Screaming Frog and Google Analytics. I know there are so many different tools in the industry to choose from, but I try to keep my toolbox as light as I can so I can focus on the data.
How is your typical work day structured?
It always needs to start with a good cup of coffee. Usually, from there I will catch up on blogs in the industry and build a workflow for my day. Since I find great satisfaction in crossing off tasks, I build my workflow of project tasks and let the crossing out begin!
What advice would you share with other SEO’s who want to become more productive?
The best tip I can give to any consultant is to manage your time better and execute.
I’ve found the best way for me to be productive is to build my workflow so I can manage my time better every day, so I can layout a plan and execute. Not to mention crossing out these tasks makes you understand how productive you’re being.
If there’s one SEO Guru you’d recommend who and why.
I would recommend Matthew Green. I’ve had the pleasure to work with some great consultants over the years and he’s by far one of the best.
He is very thorough and especially effective at building digital strategies that will integrate into businesses. If I needed SEO help, he’s who I call.
