How did you start out as a marketer?

Back in 2006, I was intrigued on how websites rank in Google’s results, and I started to do some research and learn as much as I can from forums and blogs.

Once I started to understand the basics of SEO, I decided to create my own website and see if I can make it rank for the keywords I’ve chosen.

I still remember the first days when I was so excited to see visitors from all over the world landing on my site. Back then, Google was showing the keyword phrases that referred visitors to your site.

I incrementally improved my website using the SEO techniques that used to work in those days. In less than 6 months, my first website was getting more than 300 visits a day from Google.

In 6 more months, I managed to increase the organic traffic to more than 1000 visits a day. What started out as a curiosity transformed into a passion.

In the coming years I’ve created more websites, started doing social media, and use various techniques to improve my sites.

I always believed that doing your own tests is much better than believing what others are saying. Hence why, I’ve tested every method and technique possible.

Nowadays, I’m a complete marketer and I am experienced with SEO, social media, PPC, traffic growth, conversion rate optimization, etc.

Looking back, what is your hardest struggle when it came to delivering results?

Like most marketers with a focus on SEO, it was always challenging when Google was releasing a new major algorithm.

That was especially difficult when I was working on some client’s websites that I haven’t optimized from the beginning.

How did you get your first client back then, and what kind of service did you do for them?

Most of my first websites were small, content based and were monetized by Adsense. I always felt that I could work on bigger projects.

Therefore, in 2011, I decided to start offering online marketing services to others. I got most of my clients from forums.

That’s where people were trying to learn about some new techniques but also buy services. Some of the forums that worked best for me are DigitalPoint, WarriorForum and WickedFire.

I was simply checking what other service providers were offering and I tried to give my clients something better for a more affordable price. At the beginning, my focus was mainly on SEO and content.

What do you find most rewarding about what you do?

Outranking competitors for super competitive keyword phrases. Nothing beats that.

We have a lot of readers who are bent on becoming freelancers, aside from freelancing how else can someone earn online, and what is your advise?

I always tell people to start slow and with patience. First try to gain some knowledge about the industry and then apply the things you’ve learnt on your own projects.

Testing is the key to becoming better. There are many monetization methods. Try to see what others have done and replicate it.

How is your typical work day structured?

Right now I work with the SEO Tool Monitor Backlinks. I’m still very much involved in SEO, so my passion is paying off.

Every day is different, depending on priorities. I always try to allocate a few days to creating well-researched content. That’s what naturally attracts readers and gives great results.

What recently-developed marketing strategy, technique or tool interests you the most right now?

It’s important to understand that some marketing strategies might work well for some industries, while not as good for others.

However, there’s one technique that seems to be working fine for most niches. That’s creating awesome content and give actionable and useful tips to the reader.

From my experience, these articles are naturally attacking social media shares, earn backlinks and ultimately, rank high in Google.

I strongly believe that I am now working for the best SEO tool available on the market. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should, especially because it comes with a 30 day free trial.

What do you do to stay up to date with new marketing techniques?

I follow the most popular websites on social media and frequently read case studies from influencers.

I also keep doing my own tests to see what’s working best and what gives results.

Can you tell us about a project you’re most proud of from your past work history?

I’m proud of most of my projects. Unfortunately, I can’t give names because I’ve sold some of them.

Out of all my projects, one stands out as the most important one. It’s a website I started from scratch and optimized it to get over 6000 visits a day from Google alone.

The feeling of creating something from the beginning and make it worth something is addictive.
